24 Tyrus Thomas PF 6'9" - 215lbs, Aug 17, 1986 College: LSU
Nobody suffered more under the Scott Skiles era than Tyrus Thomas over his first two seasons. The Chicago Bulls drafted the uber-athletic
power forward at number four overall in the 2006 draft with the knowledge that he was raw. Now he is raw and frustrated.
Time in and out of the dog house account for his 6 point career average points per game average, 4.2 rebounds, and remarkably
low 44.3 shooting percentage, considering that he is shockingly effective at jumping up near the rim and flushing it home.
Thomas is still athletic and the change in coaches, from Skiles and interim replicate Jim Boylan to Vinny Del Negro. Derrick Rose might
also be his savior. In college Rose was known for getting to the hole and throwing up plenty of ally oops. Thomas is really the best
candidate for the job of following Rose on the Chicago Bulls. Tyrus is hoping to have his breakthrough season this year, one which would
serve him well for a contract in the near future and one in which the Bulls need somebody to step up near the basket.
