Just outside of Chicago, in Bridgeview, at 7300 West 71st Street, Toyota Park plays home to the Chicago Fire, the city’ Major League Soccer franchise; the Chicago Machine, the city’s Major League Lacrosse team; and the Chicago Red Stars, the city’s Women’s Professional Soccer club.
Toyota Park was finished in 2006 with the intention of providing a home for the Fire and giving Chicago another outdoor concert venue. The 98 million project designed by Rossetti Architects has a seating chart for 20,000 soccer fans and 28,000 concert goers in a stadium that borrows from American and European facilities.
It has a brick façade with a classic stone entry archway, Toyota Park tickets for seats just three feet from the action on the field, a 9,000 square-foot club/banquet room, a practice facility, and two fields. The park has quickly gained a great reputation and will host its first international match with a 2010 World Cup qualifying match between USA and Trinidad and Tobago.
