9 Luol Deng SF 6-9 220 Apr 16, 1985 College: Duke
Luol Deng had a disappointing season last year with 17 points per game on 47.9 percent shooting, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
Injuries limited the small forward to 63 games, but toward the end of the season the forward known for his midrange
game started venturing out to the three point line where he hit 36.4 percent of his shots. Deng’s development beyond the arc
only make the dangerous scorer, who scores due to ball movement more than overpowering athleticism, more deadly and a more
difficult defensive assignment due to his long arms and basketball fundamentals.
Two years ago, in his third season, Deng reached career highs in points (18.8), rebounds (7.1), steals (1.2), field goal
percentage (51.7 percent), and free throw percentage (77.7 percent). The small forward has established him self as one of the keys to the Bulls future over the last few seasons, making good on the number seven draft pick in 2004.
