John Paxson began the offseason with a surprise…the number one pick in the draft.
In a choice between power forward Michael Beasely and point guard Derrick Rose, the Chicago Bulls
went with the point guard who led the Memphis Tigers to the NCAA Championship game.
The start of the season is still off in the distance, but the addition of the potential
superstar point guard leaves the Bulls with plenty of questions and contract talks with
Ben Gordon and Luol Deng. Deng’s place on the team is secure, but after a rough year,
Ben Gordon’s is being questioned. Quiet on the free agent market due to a lack of cap
space and few tradable assets, the Bulls are being forced to reorganize the roster they
have to play in Vinny Del Negro’s inaugural season as a coach on any level. Chicago fans
are excited about the upcoming season and are hoping their Bulls tickets let them see the
early signs of a legendary career for Rose.
