3 Omer Asik C 7-0 July 4, 1986 Fenerbahce Ulkrt (Turkey)
It has been quite a journey for Omer Asik. He played five seasons in the Turkish League, splitting his time between three teams before he could make his way to the NBA. The Portland Trail Blazers used the sixth pick in the second round in 2008 to draft the athletic center, but immediately traded him to the Chicago Bulls in a three-team deal.
Now he gets to grace the court as the backup to Joakim Noah. Though his stats are far from Rookie of the Year numbers, he has been impressive in his reserve role. He can be counted to grab every board that careens in his direction and alter, if not outright swatting other players entering the paint. He has been so impressive that the Chicago Bulls refused to part with him before the February trade deadline.
